What are your goals for 2026?
What are your goals for 2026?
This time of year always makes me think about goals. For almost 30 years I have created my own goals in my real estate business and for many of those years I taught GOAL SETTING classes to others.
As I have shifted my focus from my real estate business to life over the past few years as I retired, I first thought I could set aside my annual "goal setting" thought process each fall but have realized that would be a huge mistake as God wants us to have goals. What is a person that has no goals? It's someone that isn't striving for anything so their direction is like the one talked about in Ephesians 4:14
" so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes."
Without goals we are at risk that the enemy could send us to do his bidding. I know none of you want that. We all want to be focused on goals that God has created us to accomplish.
So, what are those goals? Are they different for each person? Yes and no. The specific goals will be different for each of us, but there are some general lifetime goals that we should all start with and allow God to show us how we are to apply these general goals to shape our lives and help us create specific goals.
What are these general lifetime goals?
They are very simple, yet extremely complex at the same time.
- To Know Jesus.
- To Glorify Jesus.
- To Become more like Jesus every day in how we act, and who we are becoming.
Please share how God is using these goals to shape your life to minister to your family and those you encounter each day.
