Therefore you shall observe this day, throughout your generatio

August 28  Click on the link to listen to the content of this post: Exodus 11:1-10 The  Lord  said to Moses, “Yet one plague more I will bring upon Pharaoh and upon Egypt. Afterward he will let you go from here. When he lets you go, he will drive you away completely.   2  Speak now in the hearing of the people, that they ask, every man of his neighbor and every woman of her neighbor, for silver and gold jewelry.”   3  And the  Lord  gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover, the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh's servants and in the sight of the people. 4  So Moses said, “Thus says the  Lord : ‘About midnight I will go out in the midst of Egypt,   5  and every firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the slave girl who is behind the handmill, and

When it was morning, the east wind had brought the locusts.   14  The locusts came up over all the land of Egypt and settled on the whole country of Egypt, such a dense swarm of locusts as had never been before, nor ever will be again.   15  They covered the face of the whole land, so that the land was darkened, and they ate all the plants in the land and all the fruit of the trees that the hail had left. Not a green thing remained

August 25 – Exodus 10:7-11 Click on the link to listen to the content of this post: Heavenly Father, there have been so many times I felt stuck, but in hindsight I always see You were at work.  I am so impatient and always want things to move quicker than they usually do, but I know You are working things with perfect timing to bring me to the place You want me to be.  I want to be where You want me, Lord.  Help me to relax and see You, and not my “stuckness”.  Help me to lean into You and allow You to love me, strengthen me and bring me to the place I can be the best for You.  Teach me something new today, Father.  In Jesus’ name. Amen! We are finally seeing the servants of Pharaoh tiring of the punishment they are receiving because of Pharaoh’s decisions, and they push him to let at least the men go to worship.  Pharaoh agreed but this partial agreement isn’t what God promised the Is

August 24 – Exodus 10:1-6 Click on the link to listen to the content of this post: Heavenly Father, I don’t always understand why things happen the way they do in my life, much less in the pages of Your word, but I do totally trust You to do what is best in every circumstance.  When I question why something happened, please help me always ask in a desire to learn and understand, not to question You.  I never want to act like I doubt You or don’t believe You in any way, but I have to admit I don’t always understand why things happened or how they impacted Your perfect plan.  Help me to be patient to see Your truth when You are ready to share it with me.  Help me always desire to understand Your word and study for understanding, but at the same time realize how vast You are and that You cannot be contained into my understanding because You are so far beyond what I can begin to comprehend.  He

August 23 – Exodus 9:27-35 Click on the link to listen to the content of this post: Heavenly Father, help me to be a woman of my word.  Help me to not be used as a poor example of a Christian.  Help me to be one that shows Your love by being honest and reliable.  There is no one that comes even close to You in this area, but I know although I can’t achieve perfection, I can strive for it.  Help me to see areas I need to grow so that I’m never a stumbling block.  Help me be one like Moses, that is committed to follow You and obey You, even if it takes many plagues and years in the wilderness to achieve the plan You have for me.  Help me be strong and obedient through my wilderness.  I know I am not capable of being strong or obedient on my own, so help me keep my eyes on You and listen to Your voice and follow Your steps as You lead me to the promised land.  Thank You for loving me when I am so unlovable and usi

August 22 – Exodus 9:22-26 Click on the link to listen to the content of this post: Heavenly Father, You are so very patient and I struggle to understand why everyone doesn’t believe in You the way I do.  I really don’t understand how people can see things like a baby born, or even the rising of the sun, or the beautiful stars in the sky and still doubt Your existence.  I have to admit though that I don’t understand how patient You are with them either, but then I think about all the things I have done and how patient You have been with me, and I am so thankful that You allow me so many chances.  Help me Father, be patient with others and show them Your love and acceptance through how I treat them.  Help me see where I need to restore relationships, where I need to have more patience, and how I can better reflect Your love in this world.  There are so many times I look back and see opportu

August 20 Exodus 9:8-12

August 20 Exodus 9:8-12 Click to listen to the content of this post: Heavenly Father, help me to not allow anything to keep me apart from You.  I know there have been times I have allowed sin to keep me from seeking You.  Many times, we allow our busy schedules or our leisure activities to keep us from seeking You.  I know even good things can sometimes get in the way of us spending quality time with You.  Help me to put You first and not seek out anything that would get in the way of allowing You to fill me up. In Jesus’ name. Amen! This is the sixth plague that God brings upon Egypt.  How many plagues before Pharaoh realizes the power of God and that he can’t win against God?  Even the magicians that had denounced God and worked to try to prove these plagues were nothing more than “magic” suffered from these boils to the point they couldn’t stand before Pharaoh. Do you ever find sin ke
