Heavenly Father,
help me to not allow anything to keep me apart from You. I know there have been times I have allowed sin
to keep me from seeking You. Many times,
we allow our busy schedules or our leisure activities to keep us from seeking
You. I know even good things can
sometimes get in the way of us spending quality time with You. Help me to put You first and not seek out
anything that would get in the way of allowing You to fill me up.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen!
This is the sixth
plague that God brings upon Egypt. How
many plagues before Pharaoh realizes the power of God and that he can’t win
against God?
Even the
magicians that had denounced God and worked to try to prove these plagues were
nothing more than “magic” suffered from these boils to the point they couldn’t
stand before Pharaoh.
Do you ever find
sin keeping you from God?
The enemy would
love nothing more than to use your past sin, that God has already forgiven, to
keep you a prisoner. When we allow
something to keep us from worshipping God, we are indeed prisoners.
Come to God with
repentance in your heart, and I promise you will find forgiveness and love in
the arms of Your Savior.
Exodus 9:8-12
8 And
the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Take handfuls of soot from
the kiln, and let Moses throw them in the air in the sight of Pharaoh. 9 It shall become fine dust over all the land
of Egypt, and become boils breaking out in sores on man and beast
throughout all the land of Egypt.” 10 So
they took soot from the kiln and stood before Pharaoh. And Moses threw it in
the air, and it became boils breaking out in sores on man and beast. 11 And the magicians could not stand
before Moses because of the boils, for the boils came upon the magicians and
upon all the Egyptians. 12 But
the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he did not listen to them,
as the Lord had spoken to Moses.
