Heavenly Father, You are so very patient and I struggle to understand why everyone doesn’t believe in You the way I do.  I really don’t understand how people can see things like a baby born, or even the rising of the sun, or the beautiful stars in the sky and still doubt Your existence.  I have to admit though that I don’t understand how patient You are with them either, but then I think about all the things I have done and how patient You have been with me, and I am so thankful that You allow me so many chances.  Help me Father, be patient with others and show them Your love and acceptance through how I treat them.  Help me see where I need to restore relationships, where I need to have more patience, and how I can better reflect Your love in this world.  There are so many times I look back and see opportunities to share You that I missed because my focus wasn’t on You.  Help me to keep my eyes on You, so I can always be ready to share about You and Your love.  Help me know that even when I run across one, like Pharaoh, who can’t seem to believe no matter what evidence they see, that even they might see Your truth eventually.  I know Your word never goes out void and anytime I speak of You, there is profit to you.  Help me boldly share You with those I encounter every day, in whatever way You guide me to share.

In Jesus’ name.

Amen!

I have seen some pretty bad hailstorms in my life.  I remember once when I lived in the Dallas area there was a storm that brought softball size hail.  I saw windshields with huge holes in them and huge dents in the cars.  In the area where it hit most homes had to have new roofs installed.  But I have never seen fire rain down or hail so large and widespread that it destroyed entire trees and killed people and animals.  I can’t imagine a storm like the one described here.  God is so loving to His chosen people that He again protects them from this storm.

How could anyone go through even one of these plagues, much less all these plagues and not believe in God?

Why do you think God brought so many plagues and didn’t just destroy Pharaoh?

What have you seen God do that helped your faith and trust in Him grow?

Why do you think others can have the same experience and still not believe?

Exodus 9:22-26

22 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, so that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, on man and beast and every plant of the field, in the land of Egypt.” 23 Then Moses stretched out his staff toward heaven, and the Lord sent thunder and hail, and fire ran down to the earth. And the Lord rained hail upon the land of Egypt. 24 There was hail and fire flashing continually in the midst of the hail, very heavy hail, such as had never been in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. 25 The hail struck down everything that was in the field in all the land of Egypt, both man and beast. And the hail struck down every plant of the field and broke every tree of the field. 26 Only in the land of Goshen, where the people of Israel were, was there no hail.
