August 12, 2025, Psalm 12:1-8

12 Save, O Lord, for the godly one is gone;
    for the faithful have vanished from among the children of man.
Everyone utters lies to his neighbor;
    with flattering lips and a double heart they speak.

May the Lord cut off all flattering lips,
    the tongue that makes great boasts,
those who say, “With our tongue we will prevail,
    our lips are with us; who is master over us?”

“Because the poor are plundered, because the needy groan,
    I will now arise,” says the Lord;
    “I will place him in the safety for which he longs.”
The words of the Lord are pure words,
    like silver refined in a furnace on the ground,
    purified seven times.

You, O Lord, will keep them;
    you will guard us from this generation forever.
On every side the wicked prowl,
    as vileness is exalted among the children of man.

Oh how appropriate these words are for us today!

I guess each generation believes it can’t ever become more evil, yet evil seems to have no bounds in this world.  Even things that are good, can be evil.  Who would ever thought kind words could be evil?  But in the wrong place, time, person, and intent can be evil, or used for evil.

How we need to be covered in the love of our Lord to get through each day in this world.  Without Him, evil would penetrate our every thought.

What good things do you see in your daily life that could be used as evil?

Are there things you thought were good that you need to eliminate from your life to protect yourself from the enemy?

I encourage you to find a prayer partner to share your struggles and fears so they can not only prayer with you and for your, but also help you stay accountable with the changes you need to make.
