Job
Replies: God's Majesty Is Unsearchable
26 Then Job
answered and said:
2 “How you
have helped him who has no power!
How you
have saved the arm that has no strength!
3 How you have counseled him who has no wisdom,
and
plentifully declared sound knowledge!
4 With whose help have you uttered words,
and
whose breath has come out from you?
5 The dead tremble
under
the waters and their inhabitants.
6 Sheol is naked before God,
and Abaddon
has no covering.
7 He stretches out the north over the void
and
hangs the earth on nothing.
8 He binds up the waters in his thick clouds,
and the
cloud is not split open under them.
9 He covers the face of the full moon
and spreads
over it his cloud.
10 He has inscribed a circle on the face of the
waters
at the
boundary between light and darkness.
11 The pillars of heaven tremble
and are
astounded at his rebuke.
12 By his power he stilled the sea;
by his
understanding he shattered Rahab.
13 By his wind the heavens were made fair;
his hand
pierced the fleeing serpent.
14 Behold, these are but the outskirts of his ways,
and how
small a whisper do we hear of him!
But the
thunder of his power who can understand?”
I so
love how Job obviously understand the power of God and how He has much more
power than man hasn’t seen. My today’s
terms I would say, “Job ‘schooled’ Bildad”.
I know if people don’t understand who God is, it is extremely difficult
for people to accept our word about how amazing he is. You would think if he was Job’s friend, he
would have seen all God had done and how Job trusted God. But I realize that just because we trust God
doesn’t mean all of our friends do. The
ones that believe might not have the same level of understand of God. Maybe they used to trust God more, but trials
and caused them to turn from God rather than run to God.
Job is a
witness to his friends as to who God is and what God has done, but in the midst
of this storm, they aren’t seeing it. I
don’t know if they ever really will.
You know
one of the hardest things as a Christian and Disciple of Christ? Sharing with those who either won’t listen,
or take everything you say as an argument. Another difficult group to share
with are those who used to believe but have been listening to the enemy about
why bad things happen to those they perceive as good people. I recently had
someone I know used to love Jesus fiercely, but has been listening to the world
around them instead of listening to God, and they said, “That’s the God I used
to know. The one I know now doesn’t
protect and love His people like I thought he did.”
Broke my
heart to hear that. I will just step up
my prayer for this person and know that God loves them and all I can do is pray
and share. God will guide me in what and
when I share, but I can pray like crazy.
Who do
you know who used to have a love for Jesus and it seems their light has
dimmed? Pray like crazy they can see the
truth and be called back to His will for their lives and can speak truth to
others. The enemy loves to make us no
longer care. He loves for us to question
or even regret what we knew about God.
Don’t let the enemy distract you.
Keep praying and stay in fellowship with the Creator of this world. Don’t give up!
