April 30 - Prayer - Verses - Questions

April 30

Heavenly Father,
The first thing Noah did was build an altar to You. Even with the many days in the ark, with so much togetherness, and probably quite a bit of frustration at being cooped up so long, the first thing he wanted to do was honor You. How much I can learn from Noah with his obedience, patience, diligence to carry out Your plan exactly as You directed, and then his desire to praise You. Help me be more like Noah in my temperament and faith.
How much we take You for granted God, as a kind and loving Father, which You are, but we forget that You demand us to remember You are holy, You are God, the Creator. You aren’t just a wish giver. You are above all things and to be praised above everything else. How often we as a people praise celebrities, athletes, even ourselves, but You alone are to be praised. How out of balance we have gotten things. How often have You wanted to scrap this world and start over again much like you did with Noah and his family? You are such a patient God, but more than that, You are a holy and just God. Help me remember to praise and adore You every time I come into Your presence and remember who You really are.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen!
We see here the altar Noah built for the Lord and the covenant God made with man. Why do you think Noah built the altar?
God said he would never again curse the ground because of man. Why did God put this clarification in place?
What can you offer to God as a sacrifice to show your love and commitment to God?
20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and took some of every clean animal and some of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar. 21 And when the Lord smelled the pleasing aroma, the Lord said in his heart, “I will never again curse[a] the ground because of man, for the intention of man's heart is evil from his youth. Neither will I ever again strike down every living creature as I have done. 22 While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.”
