April 19 – Ruth 2:14-16
14 And at
mealtime Boaz said to her, “Come here and eat some bread and dip your morsel in
the wine.” So she sat beside the reapers, and he passed to her roasted grain.
And she ate until she was satisfied, and she had some left over. 15 When she rose to glean, Boaz instructed
his young men, saying, “Let her glean even among the sheaves, and do not
reproach her. 16 And also
pull out some from the bundles for her and leave it for her to glean, and do
not rebuke her.”
Again,
kindness is the word of the day. What an example Boaz has become to the young men
that labor for him. His example of kindness and provision was spoken into the
very being of these young men. He has blessed them by showing them how people
in need are to be treated. In a world filled with greed today, may we be a
blessing of provision for someone God places in our path.
Heavenly Father, what favor You give
me. You treat me as if I am Your only
beloved child. I don’t deserve anything,
yet You give me the best You have. Thank
You for helping me see Your glory through these verses and how loved I am. Thank You for helping me realize the peace
and love You give, is not from the world, or circumstances, but from You. Help me realize happiness is temporary, and
joy, true joy that can only come from You, is always my choice. Help me always choose joy.
In
Jesus’ name.
Amen!
