March 20 – Judges 13:21-25

March 20 – Judges 13:21-25

21 The angel of the Lord appeared no more to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was the angel of the Lord22 And Manoah said to his wife, “We shall surely die, for we have seen God.” 23 But his wife said to him, “If the Lord had meant to kill us, he would not have accepted a burnt offering and a grain offering at our hands, or shown us all these things, or now announced to us such things as these.” 24 And the woman bore a son and called his name Samson. And the young man grew, and the Lord blessed him. 25 And the Spirit of the Lord began to stir him in Mahaneh-dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.

Like Monoah and his wife, you and I are sinners who do not deserve to be in the presence of God.  Because of the grace of God and his forgiveness of our sins we can approach the Savior with full confidence.  One day we will see God and live eternally.

How did Manoah’s wife calm his fear that God would kill them?

How do you approach God in confidence?

Heavenly Father, so often we make assumptions about each other, circumstances and even You.  How many people through the years have assumed You are only a God of judgment and discipline, when the truth is You are full of more love than we can begin to fathom.  You would like nothing more than to never have to judge anyone or discipline any of Your children, but You accept those rolls because of the love You have for us.  You are the very best parent and the best example we could have of everything!!!  Thank You for loving me when I know I am very unlovable.

In Jesus’ name.

Amen!
