Exodus 29:38-46
38 “Now this is what you shall offer on the altar: two lambs a year old day by day regularly. 39 One lamb you shall offer in the morning, and the other lamb you shall offer at twilight. 40 And with the first lamb a tenth measure of fine flour mingled with a fourth of a hin of beaten oil, and a fourth of a hin of wine for a drink offering. 41 The other lamb you shall offer at twilight, and shall offer with it a grain offering and its drink offering, as in the morning, for a pleasing aroma, a food offering to the Lord. 42 It shall be a regular burnt offering throughout your generations at the entrance of the tent of meeting before the Lord, where I will meet with you, to speak to you there. 43 There I will meet with the people of Israel, and it shall be sanctified by my glory. 44 I will consecrate the tent of meeting and the altar. Aaron also and his sons I will consecrate to serve me as priests. 45 I will dwell among the people of Israel and will be their God. 46 And they shall know that I am the Lord their God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt that I might dwell among them. I am the Lord their God.
I see in these words that God so desired to live among His people and be their God. What do you think is God’s desire for You today in how you fellowship with Him?
Does it surprise you that God wants an active relationship with You? He doesn’t just want you to surrender to Him once, get the salvation He offers and go on and live Your life. He wants to be a part of every minute of every day with you. He wants to talk to you, listen to you, love you, and guide you. He wants your heart, your mind, your soul, your strength, and everything you have to give, to be directed toward and focused on Him.
Why do you think we struggle with giving God every part of us?
Heavenly Father, I know You want every part of me and for me to give You everything I have. I know any talents, strengths, riches, ideas….everything I have, is Yours. Help me to realize that You want me to use them for Your glory and see ways I can do just that. I don’t know how I am to do that. So often I don’t think of what I have as being worthy of being used by You, but I know You gave me these gifts to be used for Your glory. Help me come to You and rely on You for every breath, so I can give You the glory for everything I do. I want to help others see who You are, but sometimes I feel so inadequate. But You made me for a reason, so help me see me as You see me. Help me use my best and my worst for Your glory.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen!
