Exodus 25:23-30
23 “You shall make a table of acacia wood. Two cubits shall be its length, a cubit its breadth, and a cubit and a half its height. 24 You shall overlay it with pure gold and make a molding of gold around it. 25 And you shall make a rim around it a handbreadth wide, and a molding of gold around the rim. 26 And you shall make for it four rings of gold, and fasten the rings to the four corners at its four legs. 27 Close to the frame the rings shall lie, as holders for the poles to carry the table. 28 You shall make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold, and the table shall be carried with these. 29 And you shall make its plates and dishes for incense, and its flagons and bowls with which to pour drink offerings; you shall make them of pure gold. 30 And you shall set the bread of the Presence on the table before me regularly.

Here we see God preparing His people to build the furniture that will be needed in the temple for the sacrifices they will make. These sacrifices will serve as an atonement for their sins. I am so grateful that Jesus’ death on that cross has absolved me of all of my sins.
Do I ask for forgiveness of my sins as I live my life?
Do I call on the Holy Spirit for direction as I live?
I am so thankful I live on this side of the cross. May I remember to daily thank Jesus for what He did for us.

Heavenly Father, the description of these furnishings sounds so beautiful and we have pictures of what we think they look like, but I doubt our imagination or anyone’s creations today can come close to the beauty of those original pieces. The love that went into them couldn’t begin to be matched by anyone else. The things the children of Israel witnessed and the many times You showed them Your power had to have an impact on the love they would put into their work on Your furniture. May I work hard to show You my love as well. I’m sure I can’t express enough how much I love You, but I will certainly try.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen!
