Exodus 24:12-18
12 The Lord said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain and wait there, that I may give you the tablets of stone, with the law and the commandment, which I have written for their instruction.” 13 So Moses rose with his assistant Joshua, and Moses went up into the mountain of God. 14 And he said to the elders, “Wait here for us until we return to you. And behold, Aaron and Hur are with you. Whoever has a dispute, let him go to them.”
15 Then Moses went up on the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain. 16 The glory of the Lord dwelt on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day he called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud. 17 Now the appearance of the glory of the Lord was like a devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the sight of the people of Israel. 18 Moses entered the cloud and went up on the mountain. And Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.

Moses held God’s written words in his hands. He met with God for forty days and forty nights. He saw the devouring fire of the glory of the Lord. We too hold God’s word in our hands as we study and read our Bible each day. This passage reminds me of the power of God’s Holy Word.
Do I always recognize the power of His Word?
Do I cry out to God to show me His power?
Do I show gratitude for all His word teaches me?
I can answer that I struggle with this in my walk.
Where do you find your answer to these questions?
Is there someone in your life that also struggles as I do?
Pray for them today. Pray for yourself if need be.
God loves us and will grow us if we simply seek Him.

Heavenly Father, how often I forget that You are the same one who met with Moses on that mountain. You are the same one who breathed life into Adam and Eve. You are the same one who gave me a way to be redeemed. I pray to You, but how often I forget that I am talking to the God of the universe. I know it, but at times I am not thinking about all You have done when I am talking to You. How often I sit down and just start giving You my list of those that I love that need Your healing touch, Your comfort, Your wisdom to make a decision, Your guidance to help them see truth, or Your saving grace, and I don’t tell You how grateful I am that You made a way that I could know You. Not just who You are, but know You as a Father, Lord, Creator, Guide, Counselor, and Savior. I speak to You and You always answer. Sometimes You show me the answer in Your Word, sometimes You answer through a person who gives me wise counsel, and sometimes You speak it directly to me, but You always answer. Sometimes it isn’t right away, or the answer I want, but You always answer. Thank You Father, for giving me a way to hear directly from You through Your Word, Your children and the Holy Spirit. I thank You that You never leave me and You always make me feel loved, even when You scold me. I can’t imagine how those who don’t know You get through each day. Thank You, Father, for being You!
In Jesus’ name.
Amen!
