Exodus 24:9-11
9 Then Moses and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel went up, 10 and they saw the God of Israel. There was under his feet as it were a pavement of sapphire stone, like the very heaven for clearness. 11 And he did not lay his hand on the chief men of the people of Israel; they beheld God, and ate and drank.

I cannot even imagine this scene in my mind. These men, the elders, were in the presence of God. They saw the presence of God. The street was like sapphire! Beautiful beyond description, I am sure. I have seen nothing like this but I have seen God’s image in the presence of a newborn baby, an amazing sunset, a prayer answered that I thought was impossible. God, thank you for showing up and showing off.
When was the last time you saw a sunset that took your breath away?
Whose beautiful baby have you held lately?
What prayer did you pray that you felt was impossible, but you prayed it despite your lack of faith and God came through in a way you knew it could only be Him?
Take time today to thank God for the beautiful ways He shows up daily in your life.
Give Him all the praise.

Heavenly Father, I can’t even begin to imagine what they saw or felt beholding You. I know they try to describe the scene but cannot truly find words as there is nothing they had ever seen before that could in any way help them find a way to describe it. I try to imagine it myself, but I know when I see You for the first time, I will be just like them and not be able to find words that are adequate. Nothing I have seen could prepare me, but I know Your glory is beyond mere words. I have to admit, I can’t wait, but I know there are still things here I need to do, so I wait and try to be patient. Thank You for sharing in Your word just enough to help us know we will see You…someday. Your presence with the Holy Spirit is beyond words and I am so grateful that You are with me every moment of every day. I can’t imagine being without You. I wish I could help those who don’t know You understand what they are missing. Help me love You so much that I take every opportunity You give me to share about You. Thank You for loving me when I am so unlovable.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen!
