Exodus 19:1-6
19 On the
third new moon after the people of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on
that day they came into the wilderness of Sinai. 2 They
set out from Rephidim and came into the wilderness of Sinai, and they
encamped in the wilderness. There Israel encamped before the
mountain, 3 while Moses went up to
God. The Lord called
to him out of the mountain, saying, “Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob,
and tell the people of Israel: 4 ‘You yourselves
have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings
and brought you to myself. 5 Now therefore, if you
will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured
possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine; 6 and
you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are
the words that you shall speak to the people of Israel.”
God took them to Mount Sinai
to talk to them. Do you see God moving
you to a place where He can talk to you?
Sometimes we are too distracted to listen, and God has to move us for us
to hear Him. Have you ever felt God
moving you to a place where You can listen better to His instructions?
In verse 5 we see we are
considered a treasured possession of God when we obey Him and keep His
covenants. What a wonderful thing to be
a treasured possession of God.
As God is moving you and
bringing you to a new place don’t forget that He considers you His treasured
possession, and what He truly wants is a relationship with You. Don’t resist His promptings. Move as He guides and listen to His voice so
He can bring you to the absolute best place to grow in Him.
Heavenly Father, I know so
often I misunderstand things and resist the promptings of the Holy Spirit
trying to help me. Thank You for not
giving up on me. Thank You for loving me
so much that You not only are patient with me now, but You sent Your Son so
many years ago so I could have a relationship with You. I so love that You want a relationship with
me. I have to admit I don’t understand
why You would want to spend time with me, but I am so very grateful that You
do. Help me respond to Your tugging on
my heart and hear Your voice as to what changes I need to make so I can be in
the best place possible to hear You, feel Your love, and be able to understand
all You want to teach me.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen!
