21 Then
Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the Lord drove the sea back by a
strong east wind all night and made the sea dry land, and the waters
were divided. 22 And the people of Israel
went into the midst of the sea on dry ground, the waters being a wall to
them on their right hand and on their left. 23 The
Egyptians pursued and went in after them into the midst of the sea, all
Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen. 24 And
in the morning watch the Lord in
the pillar of fire and of cloud looked down on the Egyptian forces and threw
the Egyptian forces into a panic, 25 clogging[b] their
chariot wheels so that they drove heavily. And the Egyptians said, “Let us flee
from before Israel, for the Lord fights
for them against the Egyptians.”
Once again, we see God
preparing the way of the Israelites. He used a strong east wind to divide the
sea and dry the land so that the Israelites had sure footing as they made their
way on dry land. God caused panic to be present in the Egyptian forces. He
clogged their wheels, so movement was hard. God prevailed and the Egyptians
were afraid. Think about your life. Have you personally experienced the
protection of the Lord? Has He freed you from your enemies?
What a mighty God we
serve. Take some time right now to thank Him for all He has done for you and
the protection that only He can provide. Even more important, tell someone today
of all the good you have seen because of your relationship with God.
Heavenly Father, how often
I feel utter panic when something happens in my life. Sometimes it is because I’m facing something
new, or because I have been through something similar before and I just can’t
imagine going through it again, and then there are the times where I am focused
so much on what is happening around me that I lost track of what is
important. You, Father. I have to keep my eyes on You. That is when the trials of the world can come
into focus. You alone can help me see
the truth in what is going on.
Sometimes my emotions get
in the way. When my feelings get hurt
and all I can think is that I want someone to understand me and love me…then I
remember You are there. You hold me and
tell me You love me, and You always will.
There are times I see people
around me getting away with horrible things and You call me on a little white
lie, and I think…I wish someone would see that this isn’t right and bring
things into a place of fairness…Then I remember You are there and You remind me
that life isn’t fair, and You discipline YOUR children, not ALL children.
Sometimes I am tired, and
I wish Jesus would come back and get me…then I remember You are there and You
tell me You have the perfect time for His return, and I don’t have to wait much
longer…just hold on a little longer.
I’m so thankful that in
these and many other times when I feel at a loss for what to do, You are
there. You are there to hold me, love
me, remind me who You are and that You have a plan, and remind me that You will
never leave me.
Thank You, Father, for
Your faithfulness to carry me through every single day!
In Jesus name.
Amen!
