Heavenly Father, these verses bring up so many emotions for me.  To see what just Your finger can do and then to read John 10:28 which says: “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.”, and to re.alize I have Your hand holding me tight.  That powerful hand that holds me and protects me because You love me.  I thank You Father for how powerful You are, and how You use that power to love Your children.  Thank You for loving me so much.  Help me realize how very much You love me and help me return that love and share with others how very powerful and loving You are.  Thank You for being so present in my life.  Help that person reading this today that is frustrated and feeling unloved to know and feel how very much they are loved today.  Thank You Father for this day that gives me so many opportunities to love You and love others that You bring into my life.

In Jesus’ name.

Amen!

Another plague! This one is possibly more disgusting than the last. How can you breathe air that is filled with gnats? Even the magicians try to tell Pharaoh that this plague is the finger of God. Yet he refuses to listen, and his nation suffers through this plague. This behavior reminds me how my behavior can have an impact on others around me. Ask God to keep you mindful of your actions so that others see the light of Christ shining through you.

Exodus 8:16-19

16 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Say to Aaron, ‘Stretch out your staff and strike the dust of the earth, so that it may become gnats in all the land of Egypt.’” 17 And they did so. Aaron stretched out his hand with his staff and struck the dust of the earth, and there were gnats on man and beast. All the dust of the earth became gnats in all the land of Egypt. 18 The magicians tried by their secret arts to produce gnats, but they could not. So there were gnats on man and beast. 19 Then the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is the finger of God.” But Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he would not listen to them, as the Lord had said.
