Heavenly Father, there are so many
times things happen and we’re blamed for something we had no part in and it
just doesn’t seem fair. It isn’t fair,
but You never promised us life would be fair, or easy. As a matter of fact, You promised us we would
have problems and as Your children we would be persecuted and have
problems. But soon, we will see not only
how You used this persecution of Joseph to save Your children. You always have a plan, and Your plan is
always perfect. What we have to do…no
what I have to do is not just acknowledge and recognize You have a plan, but
trust in You and Your plan completely. I
have to admit, Father, that is not always easy.
I always want to know what is happening and be able to make my own
choices about my life, but I know the best choice I can make is to trust You to
make my choices and trust You fully to guide me for every step. I know that no matter where You send me or
what You have me do, I won’t be alone because You will always be there. I also know that isn’t a promise that things
will be easy. Joseph sure discovered
that the hard way. Thank You Father for
your guiding hands that help me find the right path. Thank You for Your comforting arms that hold
me close to You when I am struggling.
Thank You for Your loving heart that shows me unconditional love by
loving me no matter what stupid things I do.
Thank You for Your sacrifice that gave Your son on Calvary so I could
know You.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen!
What a beautiful story of God’s
faithfulness and steadfast love.
Although imprisoned, Joseph was once again found to show leadership and
God blessed him as he was put in charge of all prisoners.
Think of a time when life seemed difficult
or even desperate to you.
Did you call out to God?
Did you remain faithful to God?
Praise God for his faithfulness in
the situation and/or resolve and continue to trust Him as trials and
tribulations come your way.
Thank Him for the good that will
come out of that trial.
Genesis 39:19-23
19 As
soon as his master heard the words that his wife spoke to him, “This is the way
your servant treated me,” his anger was kindled. 20 And
Joseph's master took him and put him into the prison, the place where
the king's prisoners were confined, and he was there in prison. 21 But the Lord was
with Joseph and showed him steadfast love and gave him favor in the sight
of the keeper of the prison. 22 And the keeper of
the prison put Joseph in charge of all the prisoners who were in the
prison. Whatever was done there, he was the one who did it. 23 The
keeper of the prison paid no attention to anything that was in Joseph's charge,
because the Lord was with him. And whatever he did, the Lord made
it succeed.
