Holy Father, Lord of All, Creator, King, and Ruler of Everything, Sometimes I must admit, I read Your Word, and don’t understand the full impact of the traditions and practices of the Jewish people, but I what I do know is that You hate deception and lies. You hate it when we sin, especially when we walk right into sin with our eyes wide open. Why do we do that? Why do we see a pit of snakes and decide that is a good place to hang out? The enemy is worse than any pit of vipers we could ever find, yet he gets under our skin often and talks us into doing things that we really don’t want to do. I even have thought at times, I don’t really want to do this, but I’m going to. I really want to take the high road, but this is easier. Less drama and fight…but I know better, it is NEVER less drama and fight, but the enemy makes it seem that way…at first…Oh Father, help me follow You and choose the right path. I so want to be in Your will, but some days I feel like I’m playing hopscotch and jumping here and there and not even coming close to what I need to do. Help me keep my eyes on You, and please protect me from the enemy today. He so loves to distract me from You and Your work. I won’t let him win. He will not win, You can defeat him with a mere touch of your finger. Thank You Father, for Your protection, love and the many blessings You give me.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen!

The deception continues in these verses. As you read and study today’s verses, pray that wrongs or deceptions in your life may be resolved through truth.
When presented the dish requested, what were Isaac’s concerns?
How were Isaac’s reservations fulfilled regarding whether this was Esau that granted his wish?
Isaac did end up giving his blessing to the imposture Jacob. What did the blessing involve?
God’s love and blessings are bountiful. He shows no favoritism but loves us all. He died for you and me that we may have eternal life once we accept Him as our Lord and Savior. He did this for all but would have done it for only you or me. Thank You, Lord, that we are enough and worthy in your amazing eyes.

Genesis 27:18-29
18 So he went in to his father and said, "My father." And he said, "Here I am. Who are you, my son?"19 Jacob said to his father, "I am Esau your firstborn. I have done as you told me; now sit up and eat of my game, that your soul may bless me."20 But Isaac said to his son, "How is it that you have found it so quickly, my son?" He answered, "Because the Lord your God granted me success."21 Then Isaac said to Jacob, "Please come near, that I may feel you, my son, to know whether you are really my son Esau or not."22 So Jacob went near to Isaac his father, who felt him and said, "The voice is Jacob's voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau."23 And he did not recognize him, because his hands were hairy like his brother Esau's hands. So he blessed him.24 He said, "Are you really my son Esau?" He answered, "I am."25 Then he said, "Bring it near to me, that I may eat of my son's game and bless you." So he brought it near to him, and he ate; and he brought him wine, and he drank.26 Then his father Isaac said to him, "Come near and kiss me, my son."27 So he came near and kissed him. And Isaac smelled the smell of his garments and blessed him and said, "See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field that the Lord has blessed!28 May God give you of the dew of heaven and of the fatness of the earth and plenty of grain and wine.29 Let peoples serve you, and nations bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers and may your mother's sons bow down to you. Cursed be everyone who curses you, and blessed be everyone who blesses you!"
