May 1 - Prayer - Thoughts - Verses

 May 1, 2023

Heavenly Father, as I read Your word today, I see once again how much You value human life. I wonder when people started seeing life so casual. I know it didn’t happen overnight, but it is amazing how we have moved from the thought of a life for a life, to where we are today. We no longer see a new life as a miracle from You, but just another mouth to feed. It is so sad to see people throw their lives away on drugs, or just throw their lives away by allowing time to pass them by without making an impact for You.
We all have days where we struggle to understand why we were born, but if we would realize how You love us so, and even sent Your only Son to die for us, maybe we could get a tiny glimpse of how much You love and value each of us. You don’t play favorites, You gave Your Son to every single one of us and You grieve when we turn away and refuse to accept Your gift. Thank You so much Father for giving me a Christian family that loved You and shared how much You value me.
Thank You Father for this love You give me that I can’t even begin to comprehend. Love so complete You have a plan to be sure I can spend eternity with You rather than cut off from You forever. Thank You for loving me so much that You sent Jesus, and then the Holy Spirit so I could know I never have to be alone again. Thank You for Your perfect plan.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen!
Prior to this time, God wouldn’t let man eat meat. They were only allowed to eat things that were grown from the ground or grew from trees. Why do you think that changed after the flood?
Why do you think God didn’t allow meat to be eaten prior to the flood?
God continues to remind man that he was made in God’s image. Think about what that means for us today. What changes might God be asking you to make that reflect how God feels about the value of your life?
Verses for May 1, 2023
And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth. The fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth and upon every bird of the heavens, upon everything that creeps on the ground and all the fish of the sea. Into your hand they are delivered. Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything. But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood. And for your lifeblood I will require a reckoning: from every beast I will require it and from man. From his fellow man I will require a reckoning for the life of man.
“Whoever sheds the blood of man,
by man shall his blood be shed,
for God made man in his own image.
And you, be fruitful and multiply, increase greatly on the earth and multiply in it.”
