Zaccaeus climbs a tree - 3-31-23

Like Zacchaeus are you curious who Jesus is?
He was so curious he went to extremes to catch a glimpse of him. He was rewarded by Jesus when he was told Jesus would dine at his house that day.
What evidence shows you are curious about God?
What extremes would you go to in order to see a glimpse of God?
Why do you think we become irritated when Jesus takes us off our path to witness to the lost, or minister to people in need?
Expanded Verses:
He entered Jericho and was passing through. 2 And behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector and was rich. 3 And he was seeking to see who Jesus was, but on account of the crowd he could not, because he was small in stature. 4 So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was about to pass that way. 5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for I must stay at your house today.” 6 So he hurried and came down and received him joyfully. 7 And when they saw it, they all grumbled, “He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.” 8 And Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor. And if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I restore it fourfold.” 9 And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, since he also is a son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

So often we are willing to help others, but not if it puts us out or causes us work. Help me love unconditionally and act on that love. Joseph spent most of his life with Egyptians, but certainly not in comfort until the last years regarding the famine, but yet he grew to love them to a degree he worked to make their lives better. I pray Father that You help me to love like that. Help me remember to act on the love for others and be Jesus to those around me. In Jesus’ name. Amen! I find this so interesting. Joseph, not an Egyptian, sold into slavery, and imprisoned in Egypt for years because of an Egyptian who lied about him.
