A Bit About Lori Morgan - 3-29-23

The ministry team of "When God Whispers" would like to share a bit about us, so you can get to know us a bit better. So here is what you can read to put you to sleep..."Who is Lori Morgan".

I was born and raised in Oklahoma, and moved to Texas when I was 18 just two weeks after Doug Morgan and I married in 1982. We met on New Year's Eve of 1981 when I was a senior in high school at Eastwood Baptist High School, in Tulsa, OK and Doug had just graduated from Oklahoma State University the spring before. Yes, He was a cradle robber. I was 17 when we met, so he was 5 years older than me, but it's amazing that now I am 58, but he is 32. At least that's what he tells people when they ask. It isn't from vanity, but because he can't remember, so he picked an age and just stuck with it.
We began dating in January of 1982, became engaged in March, I turned 18 in April, graduated high school in May and we married in July, July, just six months and three days after we met. Whirlwind to say the least. We divorced in 2006 and remarried in 2011, so we get to celebrate our marriage twice each year. It's kind of fun, because we even confuse ourselves. We had our 1st 40th anniversary last year and our 2nd 11th anniversary as well.
The most important thing to know about me and Doug, is that we love Jesus. We have been through many ups and downs, moving cross country for his job, made many mistakes, but God is our Lord and He is a God of second changes and He gave me and Doug a second chance and for that I am beyond grateful!
We have one biological daughter, Jennifer Jennifer Morgan Hall, who is an amazing woman of God and works as a store manager and trainer for James Avery Craftsman. She is talented in so many ways and amazes me daily. She is married to Chad Hall, who puts more miles on his car between Spring and College Station than he ever thought possible, and she has a gorgeous smart daughter that doesn't have a shy bone in her body. We have two spiritually adopted children, Lance Montee, who is a canine police officer in Grand Prairie, TX and has two wonderful smart boys and an amazing wife, Tammy Joyner Montee, and Meagan O'Hara, who has a beautiful heart and is a MUD engineer for an oil company in North Dakota. She is single, sort of...for now, but I am thinking that could change one of these days soon.
We also have an adopted grandson, Nick who suffers by living in San Diego area where the weather is gorgeous almost year round.
I am so thankful for each of my kids and grandkids.
I have been in real estate for 26 years now. Just saying that makes me feel ancient. I love my clients and feel so fortunate that I have the ability to work and have a ministry as well. I now own my own real estate company and have 3 agents that I have the pleasure to work with. Judy Spencer Todd, Mary Clark Tran, and Paula Parker Grandt, They all love Jesus, and strive to keep Him as a focus in their lives and I am grateful I get to work with these amazing ladies.
I am an active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Bryan, TX. I have lived in College Station since December of 2011, and love this town. It is a great place to live and raise a family, or have an empty nest like me and Doug.
I had an amazing Dad who went to be with the Lord in 2008, and I miss him every day. He was a bi-vocational pastor for many years and went into full time ministry once he retired from his "real" job. You know, the one that pays the bills and keeps a roof over your head??? He helped plant several churches in northeastern Oklahoma. My mom, Jean Welch still lives in Owasso, Oklahoma where we moved when I was going into 8th grade. So many years ago I can hardly remember. My parents loved Jesus and taught me about Him my entire life.
I remember many mornings growing up, especially my years getting up super early to go to band practice, I would see Daddy kneeling in prayer. He spent many hours in prayer and in God's word, and was a wonderful example of a godly man. My mom taught me to cook, sew, and most important...how to shop. We were shopping buddies for many years but now we live to far to take our shopping trips, and neither of us can endure the long shopping days we used to enjoy.
My sister, Tamey Welch Nelson is a retired teacher for Tulsa Public Schools and lives near mom in Owasso and I'm thankful she's there to help mom and drive her where she needs to go.
How can you pray for me?
Doug to remain cancer free.
Jennifer and I are writing a book on prayer (we needs lots of prayer for that, trust me.)
For me to keep God as my primary focus
For me to remember this is God's ministry and everything I do, is for Him and I can't take any credit.
For my children and grandchildren to stay focused on their relationship with God.
Ok....that's kind of the story on me...ok...wake up now, it's time to close Facebook and start your day!
Soon you will get to meet the rest of the ministry team (as soon as I talk them into writing a bit about themselves).
